Races & Events: 2010 Season

Completed:

Along the trail during the PHUNT 50k - Happy new year!

January 2, 2010. PHUNT 50k, Elkton, MD.

First ultramarathon – 50k in under 6 hours. It was a challenging one for sure. You can find the race report here.

John and I right before we started the St. Patty's Day run in monsoon-like weather.

March 13, 2010 – St. Pat’s Annual 10 miler, Atlantic City, NJ.

Completed: 1:30:42. Painfully slow for me. Last year, I ran this race in 1 hour and 16 minutes. But, this year, I’m just getting over a leg injury that took 5 weeks to recover. So, I took it easy. Oh, and did I mention, the wind was blowing 45 mph, and there was sleet? Ha! Regardless of the weather, I had to do this race. It’s a tradition. We do it every year.

This year, I ran it with Tracy, and we wore crazy St. Patty’s Day Hats. It was too much fun!

Heading out on the bike during NJ Devilman amidst 25 mph sustained winds. Good times...?

May 8, 2010 – NJ Devilman Half Lite Triathlon, Cumberland County, NJ

.8 mile swim, 40 mile bike, 8.8 mile run, completed: 4:08:56, 16th female overall (out of 63), 5th place age group. Full race report can be found here.

May 15, 2010 – Shore Cycle Club, Pinelands Triple Loop 100 mile ride

First century ride! 5 hours 45 minutes. This was not a competitive race, but a great experience! Met some wonderful people, and shared information about cycling and Ironman Lake Placid. Highly recommended if you are looking for an early season 100-miler in the Southern NJ area.

May 30, 2010 – Kenny Wayland Memorial 10k, Ventnor, NJ

Personal record: 45:10, 2nd place overall female. Race report can be found here. Great cause, great people :).

Feeling good at the finish line of Mooseman 70.3

June 6, 2010 – Mooseman 70.3, New Hampshire

1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run, completed 6:25:41. Race report part 1 can be found here. Part 2, which includes more technical tips, can be found here.

June 12, 2010 – Githens Center Bike-A-Thon 100 mile ride

Another century under our belt. This event, while a great charity, was not well-suited for 100 mile cyclists, as John and I were the only ones who did the 100 mile ride. Most of the other riders opted for the 35 or 50 mile loop. So, when we returned from our ride, all of the support staff had packed up and gone home! Yikes! So, if you are looking for a big 100 mile ride, this isn’t the one. Good for the shorter rides, though.

Finish line, Ironman Lake Placid 2010.

June 18-20 – Fireman Ironman Training Camp, Lake Placid, NY

This was such an awesome experience – I highly recommend it. To read more about the camp, see my post about it here.

July 25, 2010. Lake Placid Ironman, Lake Placid, NY

Most amazing day. I have three posts about the race: 1) the swim & T1, 2) the bike & T2, 3) running to the finish line.

August 22, 2010. Cannonman Half Ironman.

Run at the Cannonman Tri

A fun race to shake off the post-Ironman blues. John and I both got 2nd in our age groups! Good day 🙂 Race report can be found at https://www.runningalife.com/?p=992.

Labor Pain 12 Hour Endurance Run

This run was tooooo much fun – a great reminder of how much I love running. This race was great training prep for the Vermont 50. See the race report here.

September 12, 2010. Stumpy’s Trail little bit more than a Marathon

More trail goodness – race report is here. This race was a free event in celebration of Stumpy’s birthday. Part of the Trail Dawg’s series of free races. Well worth your time if you are in the mid-atlantic region.

September 26, 2010.Vermont 50.

I did it! I injured myself pretty good in the process, but I crossed that finish line. Race report can be found here.
